Public TTY™ 240M

Since 1988, Ultratec has been the pioneer in providing vandal-resistant text telephones (TTYs) specifically designed for public telephone use. There are over two hundred Ultratec Public TTYs in use in airports, transit stations, government buildings, hospitals, shopping malls and other public buildings throughout the country installed and owned by Telstra.

The public payphone TTY is housed in motorised metal drawer and is connected directly to the public telephone. This motorised design offers maximum protection from vandalism by opening only in response to receiving TTY characters from the party being called. Once activated, the drawer reveals metal keys with a keyboard that is sealed for maximum spill resistance. The display screen is protected by tempered glass. Indoor use only.
